Natalie Joseph of Body Unlimited, Recommends Matcha to her Clients for Antioxidants and Weightloss
I always say, “Don’t take my word for it, ask a convert.” We recently connected with fitness and nutrition consultant, Natalie Joseph of Body Unlimited who recommends matcha to her clients here in Los Angeles. Here’s why:
I first heard about matcha tea through my sister. She is amazing! She has 3 little kids and is a black belt in Tang Soo Do. I did my research on matcha after that and became more excited about it.
We recommend matcha for our clients for several reasons:
- First, it is a completely natural supplement, so we can be sure there are no harmful additives or other carcinogenic ingredients and is safe for daily use.
- Second, matcha is more potent than regular green tea, offering more antioxidant power, vitamins and minerals. Our practice is not only about reaching new goals, but also about preventing illness and maintaining good health. Some of our clients are battling their genetic disposition for certain cancers and obesity, and many are simply overwhelmed with the daily stresses of life.
- So, third, I must say that we recommend matcha because it healthfully aids in cancer prevention, sustaining energy through the day and in calming the mind. Our clients should expect a gentle feeling of well-being and alertness for a few hours after consuming one serving of matcha. For fat oxidation, we recommend consuming three cups per day. If done consistently, our clients should expect to lose inches of unwanted weight when combined with regular exercise and proper diet. For our bodybuilding clients, one cup consumed pre-workout will help fuel and support the body through the stresses of the weight load.
We have two favorite ways of preparing matcha! I like to blend a teaspoon of matcha in my protein shake or plain yogurt; yummy! Tauhid loves it served hot with a bit of milk.
Body Unlimited doesn’t just recommend any old “cure all” product. They are experts who specialize in formulating nutritional and supplemental plans according to the unique needs of their clients. Natalie described her process to me explaining where they draw they line: “Supplements include protein powders, pre and post-workout aids, sleep/muscle recovery aids, amino acids, and joint support. We specialize in formulating not only nutrition plans, but also in supplement plans. I say this because some people need gluten free products, soy free products, stomach-sensitive products and so forth. We know what to recommend to you based on your needs, current health, desired health, medical state, and genetic disposition. There are just too many products out there and many of them are a waste! Not to mention, many of them contain great ingredients mixed with carcinogenic ones and on top of that are formulated in such a way that the body doesn’t even absorb any of it! So, we do all the filtering for you, so you can be sure you are taking “the right stuff” and the right dosage too.”
When the options for nutritional support are so vast and confusing, caring experts like Natalie and her partner Tauhid Etcheverry can be counted on to help us navigate the best use of our health and wellness dollars.
